10-W USB interchangeable plug adapter complies with DOE VI efficiency standards

June 7, 2019 By Aimee Kalnoskas

10-W USB interchangeable plug adapterPhihong has announced the launch of its new 10W USB Interchangeable Plug Adapter Series, which is compliant to the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE VI) efficiency regulations for external power supplies, as well as the European Union’s voluntary Code of Conduct Version 5 Tier 2 requirements. The new PSAF10R-050QA-R adapter features a USB receptacle, field-changeable AC plugs, low leakage current, and voltage drop compensation. Phihong’s PSAF10R-050QA-R Series adapters are ideal for use in many applications, including consumer electronics, peripherals, portable equipment, and networking.

With an AC input voltage range of 100V to 240V, the compact PSAF10R-050QA-R Series adapters help offset voltage drop that may be encountered with longer USB cables or USB cables with thin wires. The new power adapter series offers users who are traveling the convenience of interchangeable plugs, which also means that OEMs need only stock a single power adapter to cover all global electric systems, minimizing the inventory cost costs associated with carrying separate power adapters with fixed plugs for specific regions.

The PSAF10R-050QA-R Series adapters carry cULus, CE, RCM, PSE, KCC/KC and EAC safety certifications for the USA, Canada, Europe, Australia, Japan, Korea, and the Eurasian Economic Union (Russia, Belarus, Armenia, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan).
