Taiwan Semiconductor has introduced a series of 1,200V diodes designed for high-power rectification and automotive applications. The new PLA and PLD series include six models with continuous current ratings of 15A, 30A, and 60A. Each device features a maximum forward voltage of 1.3V, a reverse leakage of less than 10µA at 25 °C, and a maximum junction temperature of 175 °C.
The diodes are available in three industry-standard packages—ThinDPAK, D2PAK-D, and TO-247BD—supporting straightforward integration into existing power designs. Two models, PLAD15QH and PLDS30QH, meet AEC-Q qualification standards for automotive use.
These components are designed for use in power conversion and rectification systems, including AC/DC converters, EV chargers, battery management systems, inverters, uninterruptible power supplies, and power equipment for computing or data centers. Their low forward voltage and high thermal tolerance enable efficient operation in demanding electrical environments.
Samples are currently in stock through major distributors, with production lead times of 8 to 14 weeks after receipt of order. Supporting materials, including datasheets, SPICE models, thermal models, and CAD files, are available on request.
