TVS diodes optimized for dc bus clamping

October 22, 2019 By Aimee Kalnoskas Leave a Comment

15KPA-SD-Q TVS diodesBourns, Inc.introduced its Model 15KPA-SD-Q transient voltage suppressor (TVS) diode series. Bourns designed its latest TVS diodes for use in DC bus clamping applications, and to protect sensitive electronics applications against overvoltage transients. In addition, these new protection devices are AEC-Q101- compliant making them ideal protection solutions for applications that require high reliability such as in power supplies and equipment used in harsh environments.

The Model 15KPA-SD-Q Series offers superior performance from its high peak pulse power (10/1000μs) rating of 15kW and high peak pulse current (8/20 μs) rating of 1kA. These new protection components also feature lower clamping voltage under surge, performance stability and increased reliability compared to competing metal oxide varistor (MOV) technology.

The Bourns Model 15KPA-SD-Q Series comes in a surface-mount DO-218AB package well-suited for automated pick and place assembly and reflow processes. Manufacturing production costs can be reduced and PCB assembly is simplified using surface-mount components compared to similar products with traditional through-hole packages.

Available now, Bourns Model 15KPA-SD-Q Series is RoHS-compliant and halogen-free.
