5 mm‑wide solid state relays offer AC/DC switching in compact form factor

August 5, 2025 By Redding Traiger

Carlo Gavazzi Automation has introduced the RSLS Series of 5 mm‑wide solid-state relays for low‑power AC and DC load switching.

The RSLS Series features a single‑pole, ultra‑slim design compatible with industry‑standard relay footprints, making it suitable for replacing electromechanical relays in compact installations. The solid-state design provides silent operation, wear‑free switching, and resistance to vibration and shock.

The range includes AC and DC output models. AC models support switching up to 2 A at 230 VAC. DC models are available for 24 VDC loads at 3.5 A or 6 A, and for 48 VDC loads at 100 mA. Control inputs accept either 3–12 VDC or 15–30 VDC. The relays provide 2500 Vrms isolation between input and output, with RSLSD048 variants offering 3750 Vrms isolation and integrated output overvoltage protection. Reverse input voltage protection is standard.

Mounting options include installation in industry‑standard DIN sockets or direct PCB soldering. Pre‑assembled DIN‑mounted versions are available with screw or spring‑clamp terminals.

Typical applications include programmable controllers, labelling and packaging machinery, signal light control, manufacturing systems, vending equipment, valves, and solenoids. The arc‑free switching design also supports HVAC and refrigeration equipment using flammable refrigerants.

The RSLS Series meets CE, EAC, cURus, and CSA certification requirements and is available through Carlo Gavazzi’s sales network and distributors.
