Motor controllers double as dynamometers
These two dsPICDEM MCLV-2 development boards at the Microchip booth are doing two different things. One is driving a brushless motor, while the other is powering another BLDC motor that is acting as a dynamometer for the first one. The boards can be used in different ways and can accept different plug-in modules containing different processors. Also notable is that, according to the Microchip engineers in the booth, the boards use a free open-source program called Scilab as the basis for their development system software. Scilab is basically a free version of Matlab maintained by the ESI group in France.
