ABLIC has released the S-19560B Series, a power management IC for automotive camera modules that supports 4.0 V to 16 V input and provides three regulated outputs. The device integrates two step-down DC-DC converters and one LDO regulator in an HSNT-8(2030) package measuring 2.0 × 3.0 × 0.5 mm.
When combined with ABLIC’s S-19255 high-PSRR LDO, the S-19560B can be used to build a four-channel power supply circuit in a reduced mounting area compared with competing four-channel PMICs. Using an external LDO also spreads heat dissipation away from the main IC and can reduce noise on power lines when placed close to the image sensor.
The device includes preset output voltages, startup sequences, and other configuration parameters, eliminating the need for initialization at power-up. It is intended for camera modules used in driver assistance and autonomous-driving systems, as well as other in-vehicle electronics.
The PMIC is designed for operation from −40 °C to +125 °C and is planned for AEC-Q100 qualification. Functional features include overcurrent protection, thermal shutdown, short-circuit protection with hiccup control, spread-spectrum clock options, and output discharge selection.
Application areas include view and sensing camera modules, drive recorders, driver-monitoring systems, and other automotive subsystems such as engines, transmissions, suspensions, ABS, and electrified powertrains.
