Axial-leaded, wet electrolytic caps feature high CV for high-rel apps

March 18, 2016 By Andrew Zistler Leave a Comment

tantalumAVX Corporation has added new high voltage components to its high-reliability TWA Series COTS Plus axial-leaded, wet electrolytic tantalum capacitors. Featuring a high capacitance cathode system that enables high CV levels in DSCC-compatible case sizes and new ratings as high as 4700µF/25V, 3000µF/50V, 2200µF/60V, 1000µF/75V, and 750µF/100V, TWA Series capacitors are ideal for use in high-reliability defense, avionics, radar, and power supply applications.

TWA Series COTS Plus wet electrolytic tantalum capacitors are available with seven voltage ratings (25V, 30V, 50V, 60V, 75V, 100V, and 125V), 26 capacitance values spanning 10µF to 5,600µF, four DSCC-compatible case sizes (T1–T4), two capacitance tolerances (±10% and ±20%), and two termination finishes (Sn/Pb 60/40 and lead-free compatible matte tin). The RoHS compliant tantalum capacitors are also available both with and without an insulating sleeve, and with three levels of qualification: Extended Range, COTS Plus, and Group A level testing. TWA Series capacitors are shipped in a tray pack, and standard lead time for the series is 8–10 weeks. Lead times for components with custom capacitance and voltage packages, which are both possible and welcomed, will vary.
