BLDC motors integrate Hall sensor for closed-loop FOC-based operation

February 11, 2019 By Aimee Kalnoskas Leave a Comment

BLDC motorsTRINAMIC Motion Control GmbH & Co. KG announces their first family of smart BLDC motors, designed for 4000rpm nominal velocity and 6.25 …18.5 Ncm rated holding torque. Together with the state-of-the-art feature set and CAN bus interface, the PD42-x-1670 is highly integrated and offers the best handling.

Suitable for lab automation, factory automation, manufacturing, robotics, and CNC applications, the BLDC PANdrive comes with two firmware options – TMCL and CANopen. Parameters can be permanently stored on the board itself and the PANdrive takes care of all time-critical operations such as ramp calculations itself, ensuring low communication traffic.

The full mechatronic solution includes state of the art field oriented motor control and powerful and efficient drivers. A Hall based rotary feedback system makes it reliable and durable. Equipped with industry standard protocols, it is easily integrated in PLC environments or in standalone applications.  The drive is designed to work with a 24V power supply.

Available from March through Trinamic’s distribution channels, the PD42-x-1670 comes in three different lengths, each having 42mm flange size brushless motors.

Key features:

  • PANdrive™ smart BLDC motor
  • Supply Voltage +10 to +28V DC
  • 2A RMS
  • 4000rpm
  • CAN bus interface
  • TMCL or CANopen protocol
  • Integrated encoder (Hall sensor)
  • FOC based + SVPWM
