Class 1 Div 2 hazardous location LED light fixture carries stainless- steel I-beam mounting brackets

December 5, 2015 By Patrick Curran Leave a Comment

Larson Electronics has released a Class 1 Division 2 hazardous location LED light fixture equipped with stainless steel I-beam mounting brackets to allow users to suspend the fixture from existing beams.

The HALP-48-2L-LED-SIBAB-SS stainless steel I-beam mount hazardous area LED light fixture from Larson Electronics is U.S./Canada approved Class 1 Division 2 Groups A, B, C, and D, UL 1598A listed, and specifically designed to handle the rigors of wet and corrosive marine environments. This four foot long, two lamp fixture is ideal for operators seeking a top quality hazardous location light that will improve light quality and reduce operating costs. The fixture is constructed of non-corrosive materials including a polyester housing reinforced with glass fiber, a poured in gasket for reliable sealing and an impact resistant acrylic diffuser. Eight corrosion resistant stainless steel latches secure the lamp cover to the housing and provide a firm lock against the poured in seal to prevent drips and water intrusion.

The 28 watt LED lamps included with this fixture produce 30% more illumination than standard T8 bulbs while offering lower amp draw and increased reliability. Each lamp produces 3,360 lumens at 120 lumens per watt, for a combined total of 6,720 lumens. The solid state design of light emitting diodes provides a more reliable, stable, and energy efficient light source over traditional fluorescent lighting. This I-beam mount fixture is equipped with two stainless steel I-beam clamps and two stainless steel adjustable flange brackets. This custom combination allows operators to secure the light fixture to existing I-beams without penetrating them. Once installed the center of the light fixture housing will sit 1’ to 1 ½’ below the I-beam and operators can adjust the fixture 45° each direction, for a total of 90° of adjustability. The I-beam mount is designed for upward lighting for pits in work stations, as well as downward lighting for pipe racks and under shelving. This fixture is universal voltage, not multi-tap, and operates on any voltage from 120V to 277V without any modifications.

“The unique mounting design of this fixture provides operators with the ability to install lights on existing I-beams and other areas where surface mounting is not applicable,” said Rob Bresnahan with Larsonelectronics.com. “The I-beam mounting brackets are equipped with adjustable stainless steel
