Converters operate at 5000 meter altitude with 1600 V DC isolation

October 28, 2025 By Aimee Kalnoskas Leave a Comment

TRACO Power has released the TEC 6UI series of isolated 6 Watt dc-dc converters with an input voltage range of 9 to 75 V DC. The input range covers multiple standard bus voltages and replaces 2:1 and 4:1 input converter series, reducing the number of model variants required for applications with different supply voltages.

The converters include integrated short circuit protection, overcurrent limitation, undervoltage lockout, and remote on/off control. Input-to-output isolation is rated at 1600 VDC. The devices operate from -40°C to +80°C and function at altitudes up to 5000 meters. The converters are certified to IEC/EN/UL 62368-1 standards.

The SIP-8 plastic package measures smaller than standard industry formats for 6 Watt converters. Single and dual-output configurations are available for industrial applications where board space is constrained.

The integrated protection features eliminate the need for external fault-management components. The wide input range allows use of a single part number across applications with 12 V, 24 V and 48 V bus voltages.

The TEC 6UI series is available through TRACO Power’s distribution network with a three-year warranty.
