DIN Rail Mount Power Supplies hit 94.5% Efficiency

April 6, 2017 By Aimee Kalnoskas

TRACO POWER has announced the release of their TIB Family of DIN Rail Mount Power supplies that feature industry-leading efficiencies up to 94.5%. This new generation of DIN-rail power supplies combines the most efficient circuit topology with optimized cost/performance ratio for industrial environments and control cabinets.

These products are the new vanguard of industrial DIN-Rail power supplies by substantially reducing power losses. Their high efficiency enables a slimmer package design with a DIN Rail clip that can be mounted on either the rear (typical installations) or side (flat panel installations) of the power supply with DC-OK LED indicators on both the front and side panels. The product’s reduced heat dissipation enables a -20°C to +60°C full load operating temperature range and up to 70°C with only 20% de-rating. The supplies offer 150% boost power for a minimum of 4 seconds to support stepper motors, solenoids or actuators with true power-back immunity (no voltage over / under shoot). EMC immunity is compliant for applications in industrial environments (EN 61000-6-2) with emissions compliant with the standard for residential and commercial environments (EN 61000-6-3).

The outputs are radio-interference-suppressed to impede radiation at long output lines. This filter reduces the common mode current to within limits of telecommunication ports. The units operate with a high power factor of up to 99% with active power factor correction which also minimizes input inrush current. The TIB Family is available in four power ranges of 80, 120, 240 or 480 Watts with 24 VDC outputs (adjustable from 23.5 to 28 VDC). All models are safety approved to meet UL/EN60950-1 and UL508 listed with compliance to EN61000-6-2 and EN61000-6-3 EMC Standards. The reliability of these power supplies is supported by TRACO POWER’s 3 year product warranty.

Products are in stock and available through distributors around the globe with manufacturing lead times of 8 weeks.
