Explosion Proof LED Light with Adjustable Magnetic Base

April 28, 2016 By Jennifer Calhoon

Larson Electronics, a supplier of explosion proof and industrial grade lighting equipment, announced the release of a 150 watt explosion proof LED light with an adjustable magnetic base that allows users to install the light on unsymmetrical metallic surfaces.

LarsonThe EPL-AMB-150LED-50 low profile LED light from Larson Electronics provides operators with a powerful and energy efficient alternative to traditional hazardous location lights. This LED light was designed to provide operators in the tank cleaning industry with a versatile magnetic mount lighting solution that can easily be placed on curved surfaces, such as tank walls. This 150 watt LED tank cleaning light provides 13,000 lumens of high quality light and is available in an optional 125° or 60° beam spread of light. Supporting an aesthetically robust housing, the copper-free aluminum alloy body is powder coated for added durability against shock and vibration. The fixture’s special heat dissipating design in conjunction with advanced LED driver technology helps the unit achieve an excellent 100,000 hour rated lifespan with 70 percent lumen retention.

The magnetic mounting bracket for this unit includes eight 100 lbs. grip magnetic bases which provide a total of 800 pounds of griping force. The magnets are arranged in groups of two and are attached to the light with adjustable U brackets allowing the operator to adjust the magnets to match the curvature of tank walls or other surfaces. This magnetic mount system is constructed of non-sparking aluminum for light weight and durability, and the simple swing hinge design allows operators to easily adjust the lamp assembly to position the unit as a pedestal lamp if desired. This light is multi-voltage capable and can be operated with 100-277 volts AC and includes fifty feet of SOOW cord terminated in an optional explosion proof plug for complete protection within the hazardous location.

“This low profile LED light has a complex mounting design that gives operators in the tank cleaning industry a versatile and easily mounted lighting solution,” said Rob Bresnahan, CEO of Larson Electronics. “This fixture is an excellent upgrade choice for bulky metal halide tank cleaning lights, offering better durability, longer lamp life, and requiring less maintenance.”
