A USB Type-C car charger adapter
This demo circuit for a synchronous four-switch buck-boost converter utilizes the LM5175 controller for use as a USB Type-C car charger adapter. The output voltage can be selected for 5 V, 9 V, 15 V, or 20 V with a maximum output power of 50 W by adjusting a TPL0401A-10 digital potentiometer. This design also uses the TPS70933 LDO to power the digital potentiometer. The LM5175 average current loop sets a maximum output current of 6.25 A. Additional pulse-by-pulse current limiting is inherent in the current-mode controller.
