High-efficiency step-down switching regulators handle 2 A

step-down switching regulatorsTRACO POWER has announced the new TSR 2 series of step-down switching regulators that are drop-in replacement for inefficient LMxx linear regulators. A high efficiency up to 96 % allows full load operation up to +67°C ambient temperature (full-load) without any heat-sink or forced cooling.

The TSR 2 switching regulators provide significant features over linear regulators including better output accuracy (±2 %), lower standby current of 1mA and no requirement of external capacitors.  These regulators come in an ultra-compact SIP Package that measures only 0.55 x 0.30 x 0.40”.  The product family consists of 14 models with output voltages ranging 1.2 ~ 15VDC. All models are tightly regulated and operate with 1% load variation from 0~100%, overload protection, and extreme reliability exceeding 13 Million hours per MIL-HDBK-217F. The DC input ranges from 3.0 to 36.0 VDC depending on the model which make them ideal for point of load regulators for industrial and battery-powered applications. All models are Reach and RoHS compliant and supported by a three-year warranty.
