The RNAN thin film chip resistor series from Stackpole Electronics uses an aluminum nitride substrate to support higher power dissipation while maintaining thin film precision and stability. The resistors are rated up to 0.5 W in 0603, 1 W in 0805, 2 W in 1206, and 6 W in 2512 packages, enabling tighter tolerances in higher-power designs without excessive hot-spot or terminal temperatures. The series targets applications that require accurate resistance values with improved thermal performance compared to conventional alumina-based chip resistors.
