The STUSB4531 USB Power Delivery sink controller from STMicroelectronics is a USB PD device featuring a hardwired PD stack with AUTORUN algorithms for software-free power negotiation and management in USB-powered electronics. A newly added hybrid mode allows an external processor to access USB PD protocol layers to support functions such as Alternate modes, battery messaging and vendor-defined messages while reducing firmware complexity. The controller targets applications including wearables, portable audio, healthcare devices, POS terminals, drones, displays, and other USB-C systems requiring flexible charging and power management.
