Protect circuits to 50 or 30 kW with Littelfuse TVS diaodes

April 1, 2026 By Puja Mitra Leave a Comment

The SM15KPA-HR/HRA and SM30KPA-HR/HRA high-reliability TVS diode series from Littelfuse, Inc. are surface-mount transient voltage suppressor devices designed for lightning-induced surge protection in avionics, aviation electronics, defense systems and eVTOL platforms. Housed in an SPD4-1 package, the series provides 15 kW or 30 kW peak pulse dissipation (10/1000 μs), response time below 1 ps, 30 kV ESD protection per IEC 61000-4-2, and operation across a -55 °C to 150 °C junction temperature range. The devices support automated SMT assembly and are available in unidirectional and bidirectional versions for protecting I/O lines, power buses and other sensitive circuits. The series is designed to meet RTCA/DO-160 Waveform 5A Level 5 requirements and includes screening such as surge testing, temperature cycling, X-ray inspection and electrical characterization to MIL-STD-750.
