The SRK1004 synchronous-rectifier controller from STMicroelectronics is designed to improve efficiency and reduce component count on the secondary side of active-clamp resonant and quasi-resonant flyback converters used in chargers power adapters and switched-mode power supplies. The 2 mm × 2 mm DFN device supports switching frequencies up to 500 kHz provides up to 1.6 A sink and 0.6 A source gate drive and operates from a 4 V to 36 V supply with up to 190 V drain-source capability in low-side or high-side configurations. Multiple variants with selectable turn-off delay and gate-drive levels allow designers to optimize performance and size while avoiding the need for an auxiliary power supply.
