Power density, low weight and ease-of-use are critical considerations when designing isolated, regulated dc-dc converter systems for a broad range of robotics, UAV, rail, communications and defense/aerospace applications. The new DCM2322 ChiP family, a lower-power variant of the Vicor DCM3623 series, are targeted to meet these important requirements. Packaged in a 22x23x7-mm ChiP, the new series offers engineers wide input voltage ranges of 43 – 154 V, 14 – 72 V and 9 – 50 V with power levels ranging from 35 to 120 W and efficiencies up to 90.5%. Vicor DCMs use high-frequency zero-voltage switching topology to achieve leading thermal and electrical performance with power densities five times greater than competing dc-dc converters.
For rail transport applications: Modern rail infrastructure requires a wide range of dc-dc converters to power a variety of new safety systems and passenger services, as well as creating a need for performance improvements in existing systems for both freight and commuter markets. For military applications: The new DCM2322 ChiPs are designed to meet the SWAP-C demands in a broad range of defense and aerospace applications including ground, air and sea, communications and imaging systems. Both T-grade (–40 to 125°C) and M-grade (–55 to 125°C) options are available.
