Weidmuller’s PRO Series Redundancy Models

April 3, 2012 By Natasha Townsend Leave a Comment

PRO-M switch mode power supplies have been expanded to include two (2) new redundancy modules:  A capacity module and a relay module.  These modules increase power availability and machine up time cost effectively, enabling load sharing and preventative current feedback.  The modules have 20A or 40A output current, and an integrated voltage relay for monitoring the power supply systems. This series’ capacity module is a storage device on the output, providing a power boost in excessive current demand in one load circuit of the dc power supply. The high current/short time boost forces the magnetic circuit breaker for a faulty load into a fast switches off.  Embedded with an integrated alarm relay, the two tier terminals can configure capacity increases of up to 200% for 2 – 3 ms, and operate at temperature ranges from -25°C to +70°C. Approved from CE, TUV, GL, GOST and cULus for use in applications, the PRO-M Series relay modules attaches onto the PRO-M Series Power Supply.

PRO-H Series power supply range now offers Zone 2 ATEX hazardous area approvals in addition to the existing Class 1 Div. 2.  Designed for process control installations requiring highest power availability levels, PRO-H offers two redundancy modules for up to 15 A and 25 A loads.  When used with two PRO-H power supplies, this system creates a highly reliable and flexible power delivery solution that enables load sharing in addition to redundancy. Hot-swappable input and output cables with pluggable connectors  provide a 900,000-hour MTBF (mean time before failure).  In addition to hazardous area ATEX and Class 1 Div. 2 approvals, the PRO-H power supplies and modules also have UL and CSA certification.
