10 watt vapor proof drop light with waterproof transformer

February 19, 2016 By Andrew Zistler Leave a Comment

larsonLarson Electronics continues its commitment to providing high grade lighting equipment to specialty markets with the release of a 10 watt LED trouble light that is vapor proof, approved for damp locations, and equipped with a waterproof step down transformer.

The VPLHL-10WLED-12I-50 10 watt LED drop light from Larson Electronics produces 1,050 lumens of light and comes complete with 50’ of 16/3 SOOW cable leading to an encapsulated step down transformer. The drop light features a rubberized, insulated handle to provide a safe and secure grip and a stainless steel wire guard enclosure to protect the glass dome. The 10 watt LED lamp included with this drop light has an acceptable operating temperature range of -20°C to +85°C and an operational life of 50,000 hours. The solid state design of this lamp provides it the ability to withstand impacts and vibrations that would cause a comparable 100 watt incandescent lamp to fail. This LED lamp produces nearly 3 times the illumination of incandescent lamps as measured in foot candles, at less than 1/10th of the electricity usage and without the associated heat.

The encapsulated transformer that is equipped with this LED drop light provides the ability to automatically monitor and adjust input current to maintain the correct LED voltage levels regardless of input levels across a specific range. This vapor proof task light is universal voltage and configured to operate on high voltage which is then stepped down to low voltage. The encapsulated AC to DC transformer has 50’ of 16/3 oil and chemical resistant cable on the output side that connects the LED hand lamp to the step down transformer, and 10’ of 16/3 SOOW cable on the input side terminated in an optional industrial grade cord cap, allowing for connection to many common wall outlets across the globe. This vapor proof LED work light can be used as an overhead light, a drop light, and in any applications where a portable, economical lighting solution is required.

Larson Electronics will be attending the 2016 OTC show in Houston, Texas from May 2nd to May 5th. Visit them at booth 6716 to inquire about their lighting solutions for many industrial applications.
