Explosion Proof Motion Sensor with Adjustable Timer

October 20, 2016 By Jennifer Calhoon Leave a Comment

Larson Electronics, a company that specializes in industrial lighting equipment, has announced the release of an explosion proof motion sensor equipped with an adjustable timer ideal for use in hazardous locations.

larson-exp-ms-n4x-at-hv-pr05The EXP-MS-N4X-AT-HV explosion proof motion sensor from Larson Electronics is ideal for operators seeking a high quality sensor rated for use in hazardous areas designated Class 1 Division 1 and Class 2 Division 1. The detector can be mounted at heights ranging from 10 to 20 feet and provides up to 15 feet by 15 feet coverage, and can even be activated through a wall. The entire unit is constructed of copper free non-sparking aluminum construction with a glass window front for motion detection.

The unit is wall mounted with an integral mounting bracket that can be adjusted vertically after installation. The explosion proof housing features two, a ½” or ¾”, hub opening for running electrical conductors in a feed through configuration. A bushing seal at each conductor opening prevents damage to wiring insulation. This explosion proof motion sensor is designed to operate on 120, 208, 220, 240, or 277 volts AC electrical currents and can also be configured to operate on 12-24 volts for low voltage applications.

“Larson’s new motion detector is ideal for use in environments where combustible dusts and particles may be present,” said Rob Bresnahan, CEO of Larson Electronics. “These units give operators the capability to save on operating costs by allowing equipment to only become active when motion is detected.”

Larson Electronics carries an extensive line of LED light towers, portable power distributions, explosion proof lights for hazardous locations, portable work lights and industrial grade LED area lights.
