Larson Electronics, an industrial lighting specialist, has announced the release of a hazardous location fluorescent light fixture equipped with a polycarbonate lens for use within Class 1 Division 2 areas.
The HALS-48-4L-PC-T8 hazardous location fluorescent light fixture from Larson Electronics is ideal for use in industrial locations where wet conditions and chemical/petrochemical vapors may be encountered. The housing on this unit is constructed of powder coated 16 gauge steel for durability and contains a hinged reflector and ballast tray for easy servicing. The lamps are held in place by spring loaded sockets and protected by a hinged polycarbonate door secured with four turn latches.
This hazardous location fixture is equipped with four 32 watt T8 lamps that produce 2,800 lumens each.
The fixture carries a T4A temperature rating and is approved for Class 1 Division 2 Groups A, B, C, and D hazardous areas where wet conditions and chemical/ petrochemical vapors may be encountered. This unit is universal voltage, operating on any voltage ranging from 120 volts AC to 277 volts AC and features multiple ½” NPT wiring hubs for connection. This fixture is surface mounted with two brackets attached to each end of the light that allow the operator to adjust the angle of the entire fixture once mounted. Pendant and cable mounting options are available for operators who wish to mount these fixtures away from the ceiling surface.
“The new design of a polycarbonate lens makes this fixture safe for food processing plants in addition to locations where chemical vapors could exist,” said Rob Bresnahan, CEO of Larson Electronics. “This fixture provides a total of 128 watts while each lamp offers a 24,000 hour rated service life.”
