Design precaution of 78xx and 79xx series regulators – I am looking into using these old regulators. My main concern is the maximum value capacitor that can be used at the input and output. The ON datasheet gave the minimum value. eg. 0.33uF at the input if the input trace is long.
I understand I need to put 0.1uF ceramic bypass as close to the input and output as possible to give good bypass for stability. My question is whether it will present a problem if I use a lot more capacitance. Read more

Looking for Flyback/PWM controller – I’m looking for a PWM/flyback controller which does not have an internal oscillator in it. The motivation is that I want to provide my own oscillator signal and don’t want to be limited by the “SYNC” pin restrictions compared to the internal oscillator frequency, so I can be flexible with the frequency that I choose (and maybe change in the future). I don’t want another frequency in my converter. So the bottom line is that I need a controller with something like an “oscillator-in” pin. Read more

Finding inductance of single turn ferrite core pair inductor – We are looking to find the inductance of the following ferrite core set-up. Read more

200 amp power supply – I need to build 200Amp- 50 Volt dc power supply. Can someone guide me through for starting? I have a phase connection and plug port is rated for Amps per phase. Read more

Switching power supply emission the electromagnetic waves – Whenever I turn on my computer, the radio is being jammed. I know the reason is the switching power supply inside the computer. What is the electronic component of the power supply make the emission? If I use a power supply with higher capacity, is the emission decreased? Read more

Small 2W offline flyback power supplies – We want to make ~2W offline flyback power supplies for the bias supply. Why is it that the Chinese ferrite transformer core datasheets don’t give the minimum core area? Read more

Forward type XFMR from PE – I need a Forward type XFMR rated for 30V in the primary, 100kHz, Npri/Nsec=6, Isec>5A. I found the PA3856.001NL which almost suits. The problem is the frequency. Read more

Alternative for optocoupler and aux-winding isolated feedback – I’m looking for additional solutions for isolated feedback. I know the optocoupler and aux-winding ways, but I’m looking for other isolated creative ways to get an accurate output voltage. Read more

60Ah battery charging using solar energy – I Want to make a charger circuit which will charge a 60Ah rated battery With 12A charging current rate (Need to charge the battery in 5 hours). I will use a solar panel to charge it up. I will run 40W led bulb using the battery for 12 hours continuously. Read more

Adjustable voltage and current power supply – I have just finished the power supply project.
The circuit supply can be done with 48 V dc 150 watts SMPS or transformer. It requires a 5 V additional supply with 48 V. I have not yet implemented the circuit practically. There may be a problem. Read more
