10-W ac/dc supplies come in compact 1.8×1-in package format

March 16, 2022 By Lee Teschler Leave a Comment

The RAC10E-K/277 series of board-mount ac/dc encapsulated modules are rated at 10 W in a compact 1.8×1-in (45.7×25.4 mm) footprint. Part of the RECOM ‘Economy’ series, the modules are available with single 3.3, 5, 12, 15 and 24-V fully regulated outputs and with a wide input range that includes nominal 100, 115, 240 and 277 Vac (120 – 430 Vdc). The parts are particularly suitable for harsh electrical environments such as in EV chargers with their Over Voltage Category OVC III rating up to 2,000 m and wide operating temperature of -40 to +90°C. The parts will also find recomapplications in industrial, AV and ITE environments, with their safety certifications to IEC/EN/UL/CSA 62368-1 and compliance with OVC II up to 5,000 m. ‘Class B’ EMC limits are also met without external components and the parts are ErP-compliant with no-load losses of less than 100 mW.

Efficiency of the RAC10E-K/277 is high and up to 84%, depending on variant, resulting in a power-dense product allowing full load operation to 65°C ambient from 115 to 277 Vac. The parts are fully protected against output short circuits, over-voltage and over-current and have a reinforced isolation rating of 4 kVac/1 min. Isolation capacitance and leakage current are particularly low at 100 pF and 50 µA maximum respectively.

The RAC10E-K/277 parts are highly reliable achieving over 1.7 M hours MTBF at 25°C according to MIL-HDBK-217F and are supported by the standard RECOM three-year warranty.

Michael Schrutka, AC/DC Product Manager of RECOM comments – “Our compact RAC10E-K series with further compressed footprint is a great fit for many applications and at a very competitive price point”.
