Collaboration results in 500 W power supply with totem pole PFC launched

February 27, 2024 By Redding Traiger Leave a Comment

Tagore Technology announced a partnership with Inventchip to introduce a new compact 500 W power supply reference design solution with a Totem Pole PFC front-end and an LLC back-end. Tagore Technology has been delivering disruptive GaN semiconductor solutions for more than 12 years.

The reference design uses Tagore’s TP44100SG (90mOhm) and Inventchip’s CCM Totem Pole controller IC IVC1102/1104 in the front-end PFC section.

The ready-to-use, high-performance solution is well-suited for eBike, adapter, server, power tools charger, and telecommunication power supplies, and delivers the highest efficiency solution in this class at 96.7% peak.

Key specifications of the reference design include: Universal input voltage support 90 V – 265 Vac; Output voltage 48 V; CCM Totem Pole PFC efficiency of greater than 99%; LLC efficiency > 97.5%; Overall efficiency of 96.7%; High power density of 20 W / in; Less than 30o C temperature rise at 90 Vac.
